As of today, April 1st, 2020, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has extended the April 7th office closure date to at least May 3rd, 2020. The USCIS hopes to reopen its offices to the general public by May 4th, 2020.
USCIS plans to reopen their various offices on May 4th, 2020, unless the closure date is extended. Staff continues to perform duties that do not involve face to face contact with the general public.
USCIS will send cancellation notices to applicants and petitioners with scheduled appointments affected by this extended temporary closure.
When USCIS resumes normal operations, USCIS will reschedule all affected appointments and send out new appointment letters in the mail.
Individuals who had InfoPass or other appointments at the local field office will be required to reschedule such an appointment through the USCIS Contact Center.
USCIS will provide further updates as the situation develops.
