The U.S. Border Patrol Big Bend Sector warns people attempting to cross illegally into West Texas’s desert and mountains during the extreme heat wave
The sector highlights the tragic consequences of heat-related injuries, as many migrants lose their lives each year.
In Fiscal Year 2023, Big Bend has already conducted 63 rescues and discovered five deceased migrants.
To prevent casualties, the sector urges migrants not to risk crossing the border illegally in dangerous weather.
