Professionals: Jobs requiring at least a Bachelor’s Degree

Professionals (EB-3B)

Jobs that require at least a U.S. bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from another country in a specific field. The applicant must have that degree, and it must be the typical minimum requirement for entering the occupation (work experience cannot replace the degree in this category). The employer must obtain a labor certification and offer a permanent job related to the worker’s field of study.

Common EB-3 Professional Occupations:

  • Engineers and Scientists: Civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers; architects; urban planners.
  • Business and Finance: Accountants, financial analysts, and marketing professionals.
  • Education: K-12 teachers, college instructors, and librarians.
  • Information Technology: Software developers, IT consultants, and systems analysts.
    Note: A four-year bachelor’s degree is usually required. For instance, a three-year foreign degree typically does not qualify as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree for EB-3 professionals. If the job would accept someone without a degree, then it is not eligible under the “professional” category. (It might fall under skilled worker instead if 2+ years of experience are acceptable.)
